Veilrender
Mist Aligned
The Veilrender is a towering, mist-born predator formed from interdimensional fog, cosmic shadow, and the breath it steals, moving with an unnatural fluidity that feels more like drifting smoke than flesh. Standing roughly ten feet tall in its natural form, its body stretches and reshapes at will—sliding beneath doors, along walls, and across entire rooms as if space itself offers no resistance. A faceless head reveals four glowing golden eyes, opening one by one in the dark, while its fog-like form ripples as though it is quietly breathing. Its arrival is never seen first, it is felt, marked by an unnatural silence so heavy it becomes unbearable.
An apex predator of the Veil, the Veilrender does not hunt wildly, it chooses. It enters homes and closed spaces where fear lingers, slipping into rooms unnoticed before rising at the foot of a bed to steal the breath of a single victim. Paralysis takes hold as air is pulled from their lungs, leaving them trapped in a waking nightmare before the final moment comes. It kills only one, then leaves—its restraint far more terrifying than chaos—returning every ten years as the boundary between worlds weakens. It is not driven by rage, but by ritual, maintaining a dark balance within the ecosystem of corruption. When the Veilrender appears, it is not just a threat, it is a sign that something deeper is breaking.
